Construction Notes

 

Island.ding is a classic raglan sweater for the summer. It is worn with some positive ease, so that it falls nice, loose, and airy. The pattern remembers of small waves on the beach of an island.

The instruction includes the version with long sleeves and a version with short sleeves.

 

Sizes: XS (S, M, L1, L2, XL, XXL)

Bust circ in cm 92 (98, 103, 108, 113, 122, 128), includes 6 cm positive ease.

Sleeve circ. in cm 29 (31, 32, 35, 38, 40, 44)

Arm length approx. 5 cm or 45 cm.

Armhole depth in cm 23 (23, 23, 24, 25, 25, 25)

Total length in cm ca. +/-65 cm

 

Gauge:

24 sts x 36 r = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette using nd 3,5 mm.

 

Yarn: Frida Fuchs Steppke Single (100% Superwash Merino Wool, 366 m / 100 g), in a special color Island Paradise.

Yarn requirement long sleeves approx.: 1150 (1200, 1250, 1300, 1350, 1600, 1700) m

Yarn requirement short sleeves approx.: 730 (850, 950, 1050, 1100, 1200, 1300) m

 

Needles: main needle 3,5 mm circ nd (80 cm), ribbing needle 3,0 mm circ nd (80 cm). For the cast on I recommend a shorter rope (until there are enough sts on the nd), or you can also work with Magic Loop.

 

Material: stitch marker, yarn holder or waste yarn, darning needle.

 

Special techniques: german short rows, increases (m1l / m1r), decreases (k2tog, ssk).
